We’re now in the middle of week three since the official defi quarantine process began and are continuing “business as usual” at a pace that just might be quicker than our normal (if that’s possible).
Of the over 500 team members who normally report to one of our three offices – in Westlake, TX; King of Prussia, PA, and Amherst, NY; — nearly 90% are now working from home, practicing social distancing, and focusing on the well-being of their selves, families, clients, and communities.
defi’s flexible work arrangement and the pandemic and business continuity policies already in place beforehand have well positioned this majority to pack up company-issued laptops and mobile phones, VPN from home, and connect to tools and systems as easily and securely as they did from the office.
We do still have “feet on the ground” in our contact center in Amherst, NY. The State of New York granted us an “essential business” designation in recognition of the criticality of the services we offer banks, credit unions, finance companies and other financial institutions. We appreciate the efforts of those team members who are showing up and working at safe distances with ample hygiene and facilities resources. We do have jobs available at this location, if you’re interested in joining them.
While now our Monday Huddles and other team meetings may be joined by the occasional bark or purr of a dog or cat, or laugh of a small child, these are welcome reminders that we’re doing our part to save lives and slow this spread of COVID-19.
